Campaign-specific rules changes
- Only three classes: fighter, magic-user, and thief.
- Thief gets d6 HD.
- Silver standard: divide all listed equipment costs by 10 (i.e., read gold as silver, silver as copper, copper as 1/10 copper).
- 1 SP = 1 XP. Treasure in dungeons is balanced accordingly.
- Carousing simplified: once per downtime, spend silver on useless stuff and get the equivalent in XP. No saves, no mishaps, no limits. Suggested money-sinks: sacrifices, philanthropy, orgies, adornment, gastronomy.
- Characters are 5:6 of the dominant race from Around Here: orange men. 1:6 they are of a different race: roll on the races of man table.
- At character creation, players have the option to check for psionic powers.
- The arquebus is not available.
- Players are encouraged to run a “stable” of multiple characters.
- Between sessions, 1:1 timekeeping is in effect.
Character stable
Each player can have up to two characters available for play at any time. When a character is lost, they can switch to the backup character or create a new one.
1:1 timekeeping
Between sessions, game time progresses at the same rate as real-world time. More game time can pass during a session than real-world time between sessions. In such a case, characters played during that session are unavailable for the next session until real-world time catches up with them.
